The Badminton Blues

Today was a day where I traveled even further outside of my box. A day where I betrayed my 10 year-old self, a day where I wore socks with sandals. Largely known as a fashion crime, often committed  by dads, socks with sandals is widely known as an extremely dorky look. This fashion faux pas is something I found myself teasing my dad for wearing, and now, I've committed the same crime. But, I had noticed a small trend of more abstract fashion bloggers pairing socks and sandals, and oddly enough, the combo is adorable! I found some new socks this last week at Forever 21, and I am a HUGE sock lover, honestly they are my true passion.  So naturally I paired them with my Easter treat to myself- I'm sure there's a parks and rec quote somewhere for this ;) -my super cute silver sandals from And Apparel
Miraculously, I also had found this cool H&M dress a few days ago. The little striped bands around the arms and neckline give it a country club feel. Making it perfect to add to the formerly loserish look. I will not lie, I felt quite stylish today as I turned heads, hopefully in a good way. Though I'm no rich country club member, I can play badminton in my backyard. It actually made me quite nostalgic of the good ol' days, when I played down at the beach. But all in all, today was a fun look down memory lane, and it certainly helps that I felt cute.

What Does the Fox Say?

When I first saw this Ah-maze-ing skirt, I was browsing through Modcloth, and when I saw it, I practically squealed. I had my eye on it for a while before I decided that a cute fox skirt was worth investing in, and boy, do I not regret it! It's positively even more adorable in person! There were small details in the print that I hadn't noticed before. Even better, it has little pockets, but wait, they're heart-shaped pockets!

It went perfectly with a Kohl's crop top, and an old American Eagle cardigan. Even better, it went with a pair of darling flats I had been dying to find something to go with. That baby pink color is the absolute best, and it went with the childlike pattern of the skirt. How could anyone resist little tiny fox kisses?

It was a dreadfully hot day over here, and a parasol was needed. It was a bit of a lazy day at first, that then became a lot of running around and doing errands for this and that. Really though, don't accessories make the outfit? I can nearly always add a string of pearls, and some classic red lipstick. Plus, who doesn't love something fashionable and practical, like a parasol to keep the sun out of one's eyes? The one thing I will say is that the skirt wrinkles a bit too easy, so just something to be cautious of, but other than that glowing reviews!

First Post, Introduction

Hi Guys,

Well, let's get started! I'm Sophia Diaz, and writing is a huge love of mine. For a while now, I've thought of opening a blog, and now, I've finally decided to do it! I thought that it would be fun, and good for me, to have another creative outlet. One thing you should know is that the reason I crochet, cross stitch, knit, and embroider is because it relaxes me. I can get very stressed, so having a nice repetitive activity is really great. A lot of people I know think that these crafts are really neat, so I thought that I should share my handmade love!
Another reason I started this blog is my love of cute, quirky fashion! Often do I peruse my favorite blogs, ooo and ahh over all of their adorable clothes and accessories. I also thought that I could be like these cool people. I've supposedly always had an element of "cool", whether or not this is true is left to discussion. But I do believe I am creative, and that I can offer a new perspective on fashion and beauty.
On the other hand, I also started this blog to explore my interests, like activism and music. My love of music and other people are perhaps some of my biggest passions beside writing. There is something about music that can convey feelings in a way words sometimes cannot. Helping people and volunteering also gives an indescribable feeling of joy to me. So, I started this blog for a lot of reasons, and I hope you follow me on this crazy crafting, fashionable ride. Stay Kind!
